Pre-Hispanic and traditional Mexican clothing and textiles employ an elaborate system of pleats, folds, and seams to make an array of garments with only squares and rectangles. In this workshop taught by Carla Fernández, kids will learn about Mexican culture, history, design, and the technique Carla calls "the square root" by creating doll-sized designs in paper. At the end of the workshop, kids get to dress their models for a runway show. Let your kids discover new skills and new ways of thinking, all while having a great time in a great space.
