Intimate Gathering and Artist Talk Benefiting the Edible Schoolyard Project

Date: Sat, April 18, 2015

Hours: 5:30–7pm

Location: Boiler Room SF

Cost: $120 benefiting the Edible Schoolyard Project

Carla Fernández is an activist, visionary, and force for change, who just happens to employ the medium of fashion to turn vision into reality. She’s also at the nexus of the happening art and design culture that’s exploding in Mexico today. We’re thrilled to be hosting Carla Fernández: Design Culture Mexico.

On April 18, from 5:30–7 pm, we’d like to invite you to an intimate private reception and benefit to preview the show, and hear from and meet with Carla, Pedro Reyes and other artists from Mexico.

Both this intimate reception and the public reception that follows (from 7-9 pm) benefit the Edible Schoolyard's programs in Mexico. Funds raised will support SaludArte's mission to provide free daily meals, art classes, nutrition education, and physical activities to more than 20,000 students in Mexico City's most marginalized communities.

Sample wine from Matthiasson, sip tequila from Casa Dragones and light food from Los Cilantros, and explore Mexico’s hot artistic and cultural scene before the show opens to the public the following day. Stay for the later reception, and you’ll also be able to sample wine from Belden Barns, and immerse yourself in Mexican culture, courtesy of music from DJs Club Unicornio.

We’d love you to join us for an exciting night.
