Chiapas

This culturally rich area is the home of a number of artisanal traditions that have found new relevance as part of Carla’s designs. Chamula, which is a woven then felted textile, was traditionally used for making skirts, but now finds its way into stunning ponchos and capes. The artisans of Santa Marta use their intricate embroidery on the edges of dresses and tops, while the 3D embroidery from Chenalhó are used to add character to rebozos.
